Manifest Destiny Part 1 BY: Kristen George & R.J. George The wind blew hard but it didn't bother Sonic and Tails, since Sonic was busy giving Tails pointers on how to be a good Freedom Fighter. *Zap*Zap*Zap* The two turned around to see half a dozen swatbots chasing someone. "Sonic, we should help!" "You're right little buddy! See you there!" And with that Sonic sped off towards the chase. Tails put his hands on his hips and began to spin his tails. He headed towards the chase as well. "You jerks! Get out of here, you tin buckets! Leave me alone!" The victom screamed. As Sonic approched, the swatbots came to a sudden halt and fired at their new target. Sonic lured them away from their original priority when Tails arrived on the scene. "Hey thanks!" "Sure no prob!" "Tails, I need your help over here!" "I'll be there in a sonic second! I'll be right back." The cabbit watched as Tails sped off to Sonic aid. As soon as the two were engaged in the battle she ran off out of sight. 'Good, now that those two have occupied the guards, I can continue with my duty.' Putting on as much speed as she could, she ran towards the polluted city of Robotropolis. Back at the battle scene, Sonic was just finishing off the last 'bot when Tails noticed that the cabbit had disappeared. "Hey where did she go?" "I don't know. Let's look for her," The two headed towards Robotropolis as well. * * * * * * "Sonic do you copy... over." *SPARK...CRACK* "Sonic...SONIC!!!" *SPARK...CRACK* "Dang it! Either Sonic dosen't have the communinator on or he is in battle again!" Sally, tempted to throw the device, gently placed the communiator on the nearby table. "Sally don't be all so a'stressed put over this. If you want I'll go and look for sugah-hog." Bunnie stepped up. "Sure, but first stop by Rotor's place. He invented some new weapons for you and Sonic. Here take this with you," Sally handed a communiator to Bunnie. "Thanks!" Bunnie gave her a wave of farewell and walked out of the hut. "Hey Rotor, Sally-girl siad you had something for me and Sonic," Bunnie stood at the doorway of the lab. "Yes they're right over there. On the table," Rotor replied, not looking up from his work. Bunnie placed in a empty backpack laying on the floor except for one. "What's this Rotor?" Bunnie asked oddly looking at the the piece she questioned about in front of her. "If you attach that to your mechanical wrist, you'll be able to shoot a lazer which is a lot more powerful than the one you used against Mecha-Sonic," Rotor answered. "Have fun testing them out." Bunnie again waved good-bye and walked out the door of the lab. While heading through the forest she noticed that the communiator had a tracking device on it as well. 'Good, this will make my job go a lot faster.' The device had many different buttons but she found the one labeled 'on' right away. "There we go! Now to look for Sonic!" she began to push a few buttons. The small device began beeping and on it's screen it ponited north-northwest. 'A-ha, there we go!' She, as well, sped off towards Robotropolis. In the city, the small cabbit ran down a street in the deserted part of the city. There's the building I've been looking for." "YAAAAHH!" with a flick of her wrist the door blew down, leaving it in tiny particles of metal. When the smoke cleared she ran inside. "Now where's the main computer?" She looked around to find it well hidden above the storage room. "There we go!" She took a single leap and threw off the cover of the computer. Not being the best typist in the world, she finger hunted for the the letters and at last found what she wanted. She typed the name 'Ela' in and information poured in on the screen. Continuously glancing behind her she printed out the information. Suddenly she heard voices off in the distance. "There you are Sonic! I a'have been looking for you for the a'longest time! Wow it looks you were eager to get in here!" "No, we didn't do this Bunnie." The cabbit looked around, trying to find another exit. She noticed that the skylight was open and made a leap for it. "Hey, what's this?" Tails bent down to pick up a fallen paper. "And who's 'Ela Regnig'?" "I don't know. Hey why don't we find out. There's a map to place on here to her house." * * * * Off in a small valley surrounded by mountians, a small young cat walked out of her house on her ways to find a meal. She headed towards a stream about a mile or more away. "That looks like a good one, enough to last for at least 2 days or so." In the stearm there was a 300 pound fish swimming along the bottom of the lake. "Look out below!!" And with that she jumped right in. She snuck up behind the fish and flung it out of the lake by its tail. As it flip-flopped along the river side she smacked it upside the head with a stick, leaving it unconscious. She picked it up by it's tail and whistled while dragging it home. Suddenly a cloaked figure stopped the cat in her tracks. Two small racoons hovered by it's side. "You're the one named Ela Regnig am I right?" The cloaked figure flung off it's cape revaling it's face. It was the cabbit. "So what's it to you?" Ela positioned herself into a fighting pose ready for any movement from her competitor. "My name's Bane. Come with me and together we can easily conquer this world." Suddenly Sonic, Bunnie and Tails arrived on the scene. Without hesitation Bane reached into the small pouch tied around her leg and threw it's contents into Ela's face making her sneeze. Without that sneeze Ela's face turneds from her heartwarming seven year old face to cruel and evil. "Hey what's going on here?" Bunnie asked. "Nothing! Stay out of this you mechanical bunnie!" The 2 raccons put their two cents forth. "Vertigo! Horizon! Pipe down!" Bane snapped in agresseviment. "Hey you're that cabbit we saw not to long ago. What's happening here?" Tails asked. "None of your bussiness you two tailed freak!" Vertigo exclaimed. "Vertigo!" Bane grabbed him by his tail and threw him out of the air and onto the ground. He sat there and rubbed the huge bruise inflicted on his head. "Nothing except the forfeit of this planet." Bane began to chuckle. "What!?!" Sonic, Bunnie and Tails gasped in surprise. "This planet isn't being handed over to anyone! If you want it you're gonna have to fight for it!" Sonic stepped in ready for anything. "Besides, what can you do to scare me?" "Just watch," Bane stepped up, nose to nose with Sonic. The seven year old, like the time at Robotropolis, flicked her wrist and was able to blow up a hill leaving nothing but a pile of sand. "That did it," Sonic murmered. Bane began to chuckle which then turned into a chatioc laugh. "If you ask me, these aren't proper grounds to fight," Sonic began. "I know a perfect place... the ruins north of Robotropolis. How does that sound." "Hum. Why not?... Ok be there by 7:00, that's in two hours. Come on Ela, let's wreck havoc elsewhere." Bane put her cloak back on. Ela followed as Bane sprang with Vertigo and Horizon right behind them. "Great, that will give us 2 hours to round up a crew to defend the fort,"Sonic watched as the four harbingers of evil disappeared over the mountains."I just hope that will be enough time." * * * * * Off on the horizon a small aircraft vechile swayed back and forth as it made it's way towards Sonic and the others. "What's that?" Tails sheilded his eyes from the bright sun. "Not what, who. It look like there's someone in that there aircraft. And it look like it's gonna crash right into us! Look out!" Bunnie pushed Tails and Sonic to the ground as the aircraft skimmed over their heads. "Yikes! Sorry about that!" The person in the aircraft called. The plane came to a hault and the driver stepped out. It appeared to be a 11 year old echidna with blue hair and glasses. She wore a long grey t-shirt with a large green tank top on top. Around her neck she wore a purple handkerchief. "Hey, have you guys seen a cabbit with two floating raccoons?" "Yeah, you just missed them," Tails got up and brushed the dirt off him. "WHAT!?! OH NO!" "What? What's the matter?" "Don't you know!?! Those guys are a ruthless race called Kazems from the planet Kazemka. If they get a hold of the Chaos Emerald on the Floating Island they'll become super-powerful and take over the world!! We've got to find them so they can be stopped!" "What are we waiting for!?!" "We can use my plane to get up there. Come on!" The four jumped into the plane and headed on their way to the Floating Island. "I think we should get a hold of the princess and let her know what's happening!" "You know the Princess!?!" The echidna asked. "I've always dreamed of working as the top inventor to the palace along with Sir Charles. "You mean my Uncle Chuck." Sonic implied. "Oh, that's why you look so why look so familiar. You must be Sonic the Hedgehog." "The one and only, at your service,... uh what's your name?" "Megabyte. But you can call me 'Meg'." "Ok, Meg. Over here with the two tails is Tails. and the rabbits name is Bunnie." "Nice to meet you," Meg greeted them with a smile. "Hey did you make this plane?" Sonic asked. "Yup. Oh, look! There they are, but they aren't going to the Floating Island." "They're going to the Flickie Island!" Tails said. "Where's that?" Meg asked. "Here, let me show you. I know the way." Tails jumped into the front seat and took second in command. After a few seconds at look over the controls, they were on their way to the Flickie Island. 'Hmm. Maybe while we're there I can find the wizard Rabcat.' Meg thought as they flew over the wide ocean towards the Flickie Island. ****************** to be continued... ******************
